My daughter-in-law always asks, "What's good on TV?" Well, I've created one central location for listings of what's good and why so you can make a sound judgment on whether or not to check it out. From movies to tv series, to reality shows, I'll give it to you as I see it - good, bad, mediocre or indifferent.
When we bought our home here in the mountains of western Morris County New Jersey, we decided to give it three months to see if we should do two things: 1) Set up cable TV and 2) get a home phone. Now, I love watching television and did not want any disruption to that, but I had heard of others trying different streaming services so, I 'jumped on the bandwagon.' I decided to try Sling and it has been a good choice. I get most of the channels I enjoy and I'm paying way less than I would for regular cable. Full disclosure: I have added Hulu and kept my Netflix (mainly for my [adult] kids to enjoy), but the cost for both is minimal and combined is less than traditional cable. My parents pay over $200 dollars monthly for cable and I refuse to get into that again so if it means I have to sacrifice a few channels.... So be it.

This is a must binge! Patricia Arquette stars in this crime anthology docuseries based off of real life events. It's the story of an overprotective mother with Munchausen syndrome by proxy and her daughter, Gypsy Rose, who is trying to in part escape the toxicity of her mother's fraudulent and controlling behaviors. At the same time, the two learn a lot about karma, relationships good and bad, and the consequences for going against each other. I'm so stoked for season #2!
Where else can you witness multiple couples getting married at first sight? Well, tune in to the Lifetime network on Wednesday nights at 8:00 PM for the newest episode of Married at First Sight especially if you enjoy reality TV. The show chronicles singles in search of life-long love and partnership, and they allow relationship experts/coaches to match them to someone they will lawfully marry and meet at the altar on the day of their wedding.
I would start this series with the first episode of the season you plan to watch or simply binge-out on all seasons when you have some down time. As of today, Wednesday, August 11, 2021, the show is on its 13th season. Be careful though – you’ll become hooked. Just take a look at some of the social media pages around the show and the couples. Who are my favs? I’m so glad you asked. Stay tuned. I will feature some of my favorite couples in upcoming blog posts and break down why. But there will be no spoiler alerts. You’ll have to watch for yourself to learn which marriages work and which marriages get dissolved.
Stay tuned for my posts of discussions of the spinoff shows that are equally as entertaining!
